The Students of Grade III engaged in a collaborative activity. Each group had to build a model volcano with plaster of Paris and then conduct the experiment. Warm water was poured into the volcano model (lined with plastic bottle), some capfuls of vinegar, food colouring and baking soda was added.
The volcanoes erupted with froth and a lot of excitement was seen on the faces of the students. They were indeed thrilled to see the results of this activity. They made connections with the facts that they learnt in class about various geographical landforms and not just volcanoes. This activity enriched their thinking, reasoning and social skills as well.
