CO-CURRICULAR AND EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Children are offered a wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities like Yoga and Meditation, Indian Classical Vocal Music, Indian Classical Dance, Indian Classical Instrumental Music, Western Classical Music, Drama, varied forms of art, extempore speeches / debates, cultural trips and visits to places of interest and historical importance. Through the integrated study approach, our students are encouraged to use their intellect to excel in various activities. We at Ebenezer International School believe that only through this experience, the overall development of the personality of a child can be developed.
LIFE SKILLS PROGRAMME
Life Skills Programme equips children with skills that they can use in daily life. Focussing mainly on Communication Skills and Personality Development, the Life Skills Programme teaches a child to think constantly, acquiring knowledge on one side and using it to develop competence and confidence. This programme ultimately helps the child to face and solve everyday problems. We call it developing the ‘CAN’ factor.
In our educational system at Ebenezer International School, Bangalore, enrichment lessons are a part of our curricula. Motivational talks, leadership camps, confidence building courses, and study skills workshops have become a part of life for our young students. We instill the love of learning. STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME
The School has exchange programmes with students from other countries to enhance and promote the culture and educational aspects. This enables the students to excel in overall growth and confidence.
DEVOIR – BUSINESS FEST
The Students of the Commerce department launched their first ever Business fest – ‘Devoir’. The one day fest took off with ‘Business Quiz’ and ‘Treasure Hunt’ followed by other events like Product Launch, ‘Crisis Management’ and ‘Mock stock’. An annual feature in the Calendar, this event has opened avenues to the inquisitive mind.
Scientia 2010, the First Science Fest of EISB was organized by the students of IGCSE and AS/A level in 2010. A short documentary of Science which included the making of the Science Fest was presented by the students of Std IX. The Fest comprised of a Collage making competition on the topic – Science in Everyday life, the experiments exhibited by the students on the different topics of Physics, Chemistry and Biology and the final event was the Science Quiz.
Ebenezer International School stands proud as the Green Republic. Our students have been inducted as the change makers. In true spirit of camaraderie, the Green Ambassadors took the Power Pledge and will make a huge difference in their own little way in conserving energy to help resolve the global crisis.
With a vision to help Campuses save Energy and the Environment, the Green Republic was introduced in EISB in July 2010.
Our students had the privilege to visit the European Space agency in Darmstadt, Germany which is the NASA of Europe. This visit has been educative and interesting. The other visits included the Airbus 380 construction site and also the E Space centre at Toulouse in France.
The students of our Senior School visited the beautiful Country, Singapore, to be a part of the Science Camp organized by National University of Singapore. The camp gave the students immense knowledge in various facets such as DNA, Nanotechnology, NMR Spectrum, Cancer and Tumor research. The students returned with a keen interest towards the subject and the latest advancements in the field of Science. This also sparked their enthusiasm to do more research in their own fields of interest.
The Department of History and Geography worked with full enthusiasm to make teaching more effective. They visited the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the month of February 2011. Visit to Anthropological museums, Sagarika Emporium and the Cellular jail was an enriching experience for the students.
