“Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children”

A salute to our Roots’

Grandparents are the family’s greatest treasures, the founders of a loving legacy, the greatest storytellers, and the keepers of tradition. Grandparents are the family’s strong foundation. Through their special love and care, grandparents are the heart of the family. To honour them, students of Nursery to Grade 2 at Ebenezer International School, Bangalore celebrated Grandparents Day virtually on Monday, 20th September 2021.

The grandchildren, our little Ebenizerites, dedicated their Grandparents day wishes through songs, dance, poems and lovely cards for their Grandparents. The event was filled with love and blessings. The grandparents expressed their gratitude and love to the teachers and commented on how special they felt.

Grandparents Day was a memorable one for the children as well as the grandparents, who left with happy memories, loads of appreciation and heaps of blessings to the school and its staff.

EISB always strives to promote the right attitude. It believes in creating a culture of intelligence and sensitivity, motivating its students to turn any possibility into unlimited possibilities. Even though the ongoing pandemic situation, EISB has been able to stand above the crisis while it ensured that its student community were not deprived of their learning experience. Grade 3 PYP students have been inquiring into the topic “ Evidence of past civilizations can be used to make connections to present-day societies” as a part of their learning. They demonstrated and showcased their learning through a virtual culmination activity. Students were all dressed up in their respective civilization attire which made the program very colourful. They successfully showcased their understanding and learning of various civilizations. Each student had put commendable hard work into making their artefacts and exhibiting them. They also explained how each evidence collected from past civilizations has connections to the present day. Parents participated enthusiastically in the Quiz conducted by students.

Each participant rose to defend their arguments. The debate was lively with a plethora of arguments and counterarguments. Some participants argued for the motion and some were against the motion. They cited reasons to justify their stand. The judges were deeply engrossed in the ideas of the students and they praised the courage and spirit of the participants. EISB takes great pride and honor in one of our former students, Sanjay Krishnamurti, being accepted into the United States Mens National Cricket Team as a reserved player for the ongoing Tour of Oman with the return of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.

Sanjay was identified as the leading wicket-taker at the USA Cricket Mens Under 19 National Championships that was held in Texas earlier this year in April. He has also been recognized for his exemplary performance for the East Bay Blazers in the 2021 Toyota Minor League Cricket Championship.

While studying at EISB, Sanjay was part of the school cricket team that won many tournaments in the under 14, 16 and 19 categories. He has always been very dedicated, committed and hardworking and hence it is no surprise that he has gotten this far. He has won many laurels and this selection is yet another feather in the hat.

EISB wishes him the very best in all his endeavours.

The children of PYP ‘4A’ welcomed their parents virtually on 17th September 2021 to celebrate and to share their learning at the end of their Unit of Inquiry- “How The World Works”. Throughout the week, the children worked relentlessly to put up a skit, amazing models of simple and compound machines and PPTs. They gathered all the work samples of their choice, from across different subject areas, including Language and Math and were finally all set to amaze their parents. They took ownership of the presentations and shared their learning.

Slide shows came alive with a collection of pictures and the Inquiry Cycle that took the parents through the children’s learning journey, right from the beginning of their inquiry to the final action that this Unit inspired them to take. Children had created a 3D theme park and various rides applying their knowledge of simple and compound machines. They explained which simple machines are a part of their rides and highlighted the functions of each simple machine.

Through their written feedback, it appeared that the parents were suitably impressed with what our young leaders had to say and show.

Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna, considered one of the most powerful and famous reincarnations of Lord Vishnu.

We, at Ebenezer International School, celebrated Janmashtami in a beautiful way with our tiny tots from Nursery to Prep 2 on 30th August, Monday. Girls dressed as Radha and the Boys dressed as Krishna. Students enjoyed doing pot decoration using paints, sequins, cotton and glitter. Parents were equally excited as they had fun decorating the pots at home with their children. It was a day filled with fun and laughter.
