Wing Commander C S Bhanuprakash, Command Education Officer, visited our school and addressed our students, shedding light on the armed forces. The Indian Air Force's motto, "Touch the Sky with Glory," set the tone for the session, which began with an overview of historical Indian Air Force aircraft. Wing Commander Bhanuprakash emphasized the IAF's primary mission of safeguarding Indian airspace and its role in aerial warfare during armed conflicts.
The session featured an engaging Q & A session with active student participation. Students learned that the President of India holds the rank of Supreme Commander of the IAF and about the prestigious rank of Marshal of the Air Force, conferred by the President of India. The discussion also touched on the early Air Force units, World War II, and the initial years of Indian Independence. Special recognition was given to the dedication of airmen during the Kargil War of 1999.
He provided detailed information on career options within the Air Force, including technical and non-technical branches for officers. He highlighted the diverse aircraft used by the Indian Air Force, such as Fighter Planes, Transport/Cargo planes, Helicopters, Trainer Aircraft, and UAVs. Visuals showcased active combat aircraft like the F-16 Fighting Falcon, Mikoyan MiG-29, MiG-21, HAL Tejas, Mirage 2000, Sukhoi Su-30 MKI, Dassault Rafale, SEPECAT Jaguar, Boeing 737, and BAE Hawk fighter planes.
Students had the unique opportunity to witness a flight simulator, a device that recreates aircraft flight and its environment for training, design, and research purposes. It simulates aircraft behavior, response to flight controls, and external factors like air conditions, turbulence, and more.
He concluded by honoring the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for India's freedom and emphasized the importance of carrying their legacy forward. The session left students with a sense of pride and respect for their country's armed forces, and they departed with gratitude in their hearts.
